Emily Hopkins, LGPC

Emily is a licensed graduate professional counselor in Maryland. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland. She graduated with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University.

She uses an eclectic approach to counseling, believing each client is unique. Her approach to counseling is warm, nonjudgmental, open-minded, and positive. She focuses on her clients’ strengths and how they can be utilized. She has experience with Cognitive Behavioral Techniques (CBT), person-centered approach, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and acceptance.

Emily specializes in anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, ADHD, panic disorder, and trauma. She has experience working with adolescents and adults, as well as children (ages 8 years and up). Starting therapy can be scary, but she will be there to guide you.

In her free time, she likes to read, hang out with friends, and listen to music.
